The Marseille Cancer Research Center celebrates its 50th anniversary ! -

Dear CRCM Members,

On behalf of the Direction, I would like to wish you and your loved ones the very best of health, happiness and serenity in the New Year! May this new year enable you to initiate or pursue your projects in the service of Science and the fight against cancer, for the benefit of our patients.

Our center and its staff have collectively succeeded in rising to the highest level during the 2018-2023 period if we refer to the results of the assessments we went through in 2023. This is a major success that validates the medical and scientific ambition we have carried forward together, supported by Inserm, CNRS, Aix-Marseille University and the Institut Paoli-Calmettes, and which will continue during the 2024-2028 project.

2024 will enable us to deploy our strategy within the framework of the 4 prioritized thematic axes and the technologies essential to their ambition, and will be carried out in cooperation with the Institut Paoli-Calmettes and the Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Marseille, the Institut Cancer and Immunology and the Canceropôle PACA. Our Center will undoubtedly be a cornerstone of the national Marseille Immunology Biocluster and SIRIC SOUTH ROCK projects, which kick off in 2024.

2024 will also be a year in which new objectives concerning gender parity, eco-citizenship, ethics, scientific integrity, training and animal welfare will materialize thanks to the institutional committees set up in 2023. It will also be a year in which the collective will be strengthened at our scientific events and moments of social life, which will rival last year’s memorable ones!

Last but not least, this year will provide us with the opportunity to support our staff, both permanent and non-permanent, and our students as best we can, as they progress towards their professional goals.

The management, aware of the scientific, medical and societal responsibility that we collectively have, will remain attentive to your expectations, those of our institutions and our patients in 2024.

Happy Olympic Year !

Sincerely,
Jean-Paul Borg
Director
